We have planned all of our services up to the end of January with a mixture of in-person, online and over the phone events to be as safe and inclusive as possible. Celebrating 75 years since VJ Day in Barlborough 2020

This Saturday 15th August we celebrate 75 years since the decisive end of the Second World War, Victory in Japan Day. Watch our short service here: Here is the order of service should you want to follow it at home: You’ll see the bunting has returned to Barlborough for this celebration and the Parish Council are encouraging people to have a socially distanced afternoon tea with neighbours from 2pm.

Keep Calm and Stay In – celebrating VE Day 2020 in Barlborough & Clowne

Today is VE Day and sadly we are unable to gather together physically to celebrate. Barlborough celebrates VE Day at home

To commemorate V.E. Day, Friday 8th May, 2020, the Parish Council will hang bunting from the railings outside St.James’ Church, Barlborough. The bunting has been decorated by local groups including children and young people. The Chair to the Parish Council, Jane Haywood, will also play 1940s music on Clowne Road Barlborough at approximately 3.00p.m., following the broadcast of Sir Winston Churchill’s Victory Speech. St James Parish church in Barlborough is helping the community to get into the Christmas spirit with its very first Grand Christmas Tree Festival running over three weekends beginning on Saturday 24th November.
