The Blessing of the Memorial to Barlborough No 1/Oxcroft No 3 Colliery

Join us for the blessing of the new memorial to Barlborough No 1/Oxcroft No 3 colliery on Station Road in Clowne. We will be celebrating our mining heritage and remembering those miners who gave their lives in the Great War. This is an event run by Clowne History Society with Clowne Union of Churches. Refreshments will be served afterwards at the Methodist Chapel in Clowne.

Barlborough Grand Christmas Tree Festival

  A Grand Christmas Tree Festival over three weekends. ST JAMES’ CHURCH BARLBOROUGH 24 & 25 NOVEMBER, 1 & 2 DECEMBER AND 8 & 9 DECEMBER Church open from 11am-5pm – browse all our Christmas Trees. Refreshments available, mulled wine, mince pies, gifts to purchase, win a Christmas Hamper in our raffle.  

Barlborough Benefactors Service

Celebrating Barlborough Heritage with a service of wonderful hymns, anthems from the choir and inspiring stories about Margaret and Mary Pole (1752), Benefactors of our Village. We are reintroducing a service that stopped happening at our church in the 1930s. It will be a special service of music and readings at which we celebrate the benefactors of our church & the almshouses, sisters Margaret and Mary Pole.
