Hello from the Rector

Dear friends,

My apologies everyone, I totally forgot to send out the newsletter last week! So I’ve sent this one early.

We are now in the season of remembrance that starts with All Saints and leads us up to Advent. If you have received this email in time, on Monday evening at 7pm we have our All Souls Memorial Service at Clowne – a beautiful service at which names are read out and candles lit.

Then on Sunday 9th November it is Remembrance. The service is at Clowne Salvation Army this year at 9.30am. At Barlborough St James it is at 10.15am followed by the act of Remembrance at the Memorial garden and then refreshments at Barlborough Methodist Church on New Road.

Confirmation service at Derby Cathedral Sat 8th Nov at 11am
I’m delighted to say that we have 5 candidates going forward for confirmation this year at the service at the cathedral. If you would like to attend, please meet at Clowne church at 9.30am and we can arrange lifts between us (rather than taking too many cars). Please pray for Chris, George, Keira, Steve and Debbie!

See you soon.

Every blessing,

Rev Bryony

Here’s how you can help by joining the Parish Giving Scheme and giving by Direct Debit.

A regular gift really helps our cash flow, prevents the need for us to count cash and go to the bank and the scheme automatically claims Gift Aid.

It gives all of us peace of mind – you’re not worrying about your envelopes with your cash gift piling up and we’re not worrying about loss of income – it’s a win win!
