Hello from the Rector

Dear friends,

I’m excited and honoured to announce that I am going to be one of several new honorary (non-residential) canons of Derby Cathedral. This will entail me being part of the cathedral’s mission and ministry alongside my role as Rector of Barlborough and Clowne (I’m not moving away!) And just a reminder again that this autumn I am going to be running the ‘Finding Faith’ course in our small group time every other Tuesday. This is a 6 week course for anyone wanting a refresher (or, indeed, an introduction) to the basics of the Christian faith. There will be a confirmation service on 8th November at Derby Cathedral at which anyone interested can be confirmed. For many of you, your confirmation was probably years ago but it is always exciting and refreshing to look again at what we believe and why. You are free to attend as many sessions as you like, you can pick and mix if there is a particular topic you’d like to attend, although we recommend that those considering confirmation attend the whole course. These are the dates, all sessions will be at St John the Baptist, Clowne at 7.30pm:

Tue 16 Sept – Identity

Tue 30 Sept – The Bible

Tue 14 Oct – Holy Communion

Tue 28 Oct – Sin & Forgiveness

Tue 11 Nov – Sharing our faith

Tue 25 Nov – Spirituality
