Hello from the Rector
Dear friends,
What a delight it was to baptise Andrew last week! We welcome him into God’s family!

This Sunday is Trinity Sunday and also a 5th Sunday of the month so do join us for our joint eucharist at Barlborough at 10am.
For our Summer Fair at Clowne this year on 27th June, as well as our usual stalls and history exhibition we are hosting an outdoor music festival to showcase local young talent and have the brilliant young band, The Zebedees as our headline act! Please invite friends and if you can take some posters to help us advertise it that would be helpful (these will be available at church).
Please be bringing raffle prizes to both churches and tombola prizes to Clowne for our upcoming Summer Fair and Music Festival (27th June Clowne) and Flower and Brick Festival (11th-12th July Barlborough).
We have a google calendar for all our events at church which is regularly updated, if you would like to add it to the calendar in your phone or on your computer, click here and then click ‘add’ and all our services and events will appear in your calendar.
Every blessing,
Canon Bryony
Clowne PCC Update
Clowne PCC met this week, here is a summary of the key things discussed:
- We approved having drawings made by the architect so that we can begin the process of applying for a faculty and planning permission to build a new accessible toilet
- We agreed to look into dissolving the small ‘Church Lands’ charity which was set up for church repairs and transfer the funds (c.£6k) to the church to go towards the new toilet
- We made further plans for the Summer Music Festival on 27th June
- We found out more about how we can use Google Workspace for managing our admin – basically it operates like an online filing cabinet for all our documents – PCC Minutes, Finances, Safeguarding etc.

Please consider joining the Parish Giving Scheme to give regularly if you do not already do so.
It costs money to run our churches, to pay for our clergy and keep the lights on, most of our income comes from your generosity!
Joining the Parish Giving Scheme
A regular gift really helps our cash flow, prevents the need for us to count cash and go to the bank and the scheme automatically claims Gift Aid. Once you set it up you can relax and not worry about bringing cash to church.
How to give
Set up a regular gift to the parish by calling the dedicated telephone line: 0333 002 1271. Tell them the parish code:
- St John the Baptist, Clowne: 120612060
- St James the Greater, Barlborough: 120612054
You can also set everything up online yourself by visiting: https://www.parishgiving.org.uk/
