Hello from the Rector

Dear friends,

I hope you’ve been staying safe and warm this week with all the disruption of the weather. This Sunday we celebrate the Baptism of Christ and Rev Mike will be back with us. It will also be the first Sunday morning service with our new organist at Barlborough, Mike Robinson, please give him a warm welcome.

On Sunday 12th January after the service at Barlborough we will be holding a short meeting for anyone interested in joining our welcome team at St James (which will involve giving people hymn books and service sheets as they arrive in church and keeping an eye out for newcomers). The more people volunteer, the less regularly you’ll have to do it! Be a part of making St James a lovely church to be in!

See you soon,

Rev Bryony

Here’s how you can help by joining the Parish Giving Scheme and giving by Direct Debit.

A regular gift really helps our cash flow, prevents the need for us to count cash and go to the bank (thereby keeping us safe) and the scheme automatically claims Gift Aid.

It gives all of us peace of mind – you’re not worrying about your envelopes with your cash gift piling up and we’re not worrying about loss of income – it’s a win win!
